Brabus and AMG aren't the only tuning houses fielding their own versions of Mercedes-Benz cars, and during this week's Essen Motor Show German tuning house Lorinser unveiled their version of the new W222 Mercedes-Benz S-class. Lorinser has been tuning Mercedes-Benz automobiles since 1976 (and they've been selling them for more than 80 years), though their tuned cars not often seen on our shores. But Lorinser's upgrades to the S-class cars of the last 20 years have been well received in Europe.
Volkswagen's New Compact Coupe (NCC) concept previews the next Jetta, but with two-doors rather than four. The car's front - minus the hybrid-style closed grille - pretty much represents the new face of the sixth-generation production Jetta due on sale this November, and its syling is informed by the latest Polo as well as some recent concepts from the German brand. BMW today confirmed it will produce an all-new X7 model at its Spartanburg, US plant – reinforcing the American factory’s position as BMW’s largest production facility in the world. The new X7 is expected to be a large seven-seat range-topper that will appeal to the US market; it will probably be a rival to the Mercedes-Benz GL – and thus potentially be a premium alternative to the luxury Range Rover.
